Who qualifies for Special Transfer?

Parents may apply for open enrollment/Special Transfers to most District schools. Students granted open enrollment/Special Transfers are not eligible for transportation, and transfers may be revoked depending on students’

conduct and/or attendance.

 

Who qualifies for transportation?

Qualifications for free bus tickets: K-8 students living two miles from school; high school students living three or more miles from school.

 

Do dress codes vary?

K-8 students wear regulation uniforms. High school with long-standing dress codes are permitted to maintain colors that may vary from District regulations. All other 9-12 schools must follow the District’s dress code policy.

 

Why assign student pin numbers?

Pin numbers were assigned to students to track eligibility for free, or reduced meals. This data is reported to the federal government for District reimbursement.

 

Who governs suspensions?

Principals have the authority to suspend a student for up to 10 days. Consult the District’s Student Code of Conduct  handbook for all disciplinary policies.
