^{The mission of Whitney M. Young School is to provide an excellent education to special students of diverse backgrounds. We hope to promote, through an accelerated academic program, leadership, self-motivation, creativity, independent thought and intellectual curiosity. Since our students often learn differently than other students, part of our purpose shall be to adapt our curriculum and teacher strategy to accommodate special needs and learning styles.
