Transformation Plan - January 2010

Depth of Intervention Recommendation:  Refocus.  Use Shuler as 9th grade academy for Marshall, with 2-3 upper innovative academies building over time.  For example:  (1) Advanced Placement (AP Academy), (2)  Political Science Academy and (3) Explore 3rd academy option.

Rationale:

  • Continuous improvement school will benefit from additional support.

  • Shuler provides incubation site to start programs in 9th.

  • Eases overcrowding in John Marshall and provides way to focus on 9th grade and incubate programs before expanding into upper grades.
