At Health Careers students have the opportunity
to gain first-hand experience in the health care field while earning a state
vocational certificate and their high school diploma.
Students at Health Careers take college level
courses to complete some of their college prerequisites.
Instruction includes faculty seminars and field
trips to world-renowned hospitals and health care providers are part of the
curriculum.
Areas of study
Health Careers offers
four areas of health care and academic education. It maintains a strong
presence at Cuyahoga Community College and Cleveland State University.
Foundations for
Health Care Professions
An exploratory course,
developed specifically for 10th grade students. The course teaches the
fundamentals of health careers, health topics and employability skills.
Ideal choice for students who enjoy working with
people, and who have an aptitude for science.
Prepares
students for the world of work or for further education post-secondary.
Creates
an
excellent environment for up to 400 students.
For
9th,
10th,
11th,
and 12th grade
students enrolled in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
Academic
classes are integrated with Career & Technology classes to provide our
students with an education that can be used in higher education and in the
world of work.
