TAKES”
Cleveland Convention Center, Cleveland, Ohio
Friday, May 28 – Saturday, May 29, 2010
The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) seeks proposals for
presentations at the 2nd Annual Family and Community Empowerment Conference
on Friday, May 28 - Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the Cleveland Convention
Center, 500 East Lakeside Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44114. The theme of our
conference is Empowerment Through Change: Whatever It Takes!
The conference is a collaborative effort to empower parents, staff and
members of the community to improve the lives of our students and their
families. Parents/guardians, family and community involvement are key
factors in student success. This conference provides a forum for meaningful
dialogue. More than 2,500 parents, teachers, and community members
participated during the 2009 two-day conference
The keynote speaker (TBD) will address the issues of Dropout Prevention and
Empowering Parents to Help Their Children to be Successful at School, at
Home and in the Community. Parents will receive adult and student next steps
that will address the achievement gaps and increase the high school
graduation rate.
