Abbott
Executive Director
The George Gund Foundation
David Abbott became Executive Director of The Gund Foundation
in 2003. Prior to joining the Foundation, he served as
president of University Circle Incorporated, Executive
Director of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and
Executive Director of the Cleveland Bicentennial Commission.
Together with the Cleveland Foundation, The George Gund
Foundation helped the CMSD launch the Office of New and
Innovative Schools, championed the 2008 "Schools that are
Making a Difference" project, provided support for the
Humanware/Hardware Audit and assisted with programming for the
Developing Leadership Capacity initiative.
Leon D. Bibb

WEWS-TV
Veteran journalist and broadcaster Leon Bibb currently anchors
Live on Five at WEWS-TV 5, Cleveland’s ABC affiliate, where he
has worked since 1995. Mr. Bibb’s unique talent for
storytelling has made him one of the most respected
journalists and anchors in our community. He has supported
numerous CMSD initiatives and was the featured speaker at the
2007 Army of Believers luncheon and the 2007 Opening Day
Convocation.
Gregory S. Boyd
President
Results Engineering
Gregory Boyd is the founder and president of Results
Engineering, an industry leader in implementing Electronic
Document Management and Workflow Automation solutions. Mr.
Boyd's support of the CMSD includes donation of software and
the creation of internships for CMSD students.
Daniel Gilbert
Majority Owner
Cleveland Cavaliers
Chairman and Founder Quicken Loans, Inc.
Dan Gilbert is Chairman and Founder of Quicken Loans, the
nation’s largest online home lender. He is also is majority owner
of the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA basketball team and led the
purchase of the American Hockey
League franchise, the Lake Erie Monsters, that began
play in Fall 2007. Mr. Gilbert’s
support of the CMSD includes constructing and furnishing computer labs and
libraries and making Quicken Loans
Arena available for the 2007 and 2008 CMSD Opening Day
Employee Convocations.
Robert W. Gillespie
Chairman Emeritus
KeyCorp
Robert Gillespie,
Chairman Emeritus and former CEO of KeyCorp, is
widely-recognized as a business leader whose vision helped
mold today's modern financial services industry. Mr.
Gillespie, chair of The Vision Council and Chair of City Year,
provided the CMSD with City Year Cleveland Ambassadors and
supported mentoring and tutoring initiatives for students
in grades K-8 and high school.
Kenneth Lanci
Principal
Cleveland Office Consolidated Graphics Group, Inc
Kenneth Lanci is the president of Consolidated Graphics Group,
Inc. (CGG), graphic arts production company. Mr. Lanci's
support of the CMSD includes providing internships for CMSD
students interested in careers in the graphic arts field. In
2007, Mr. Lanci brought the Give the Gift of Sight Foundation
to Cleveland, which provides free eye exams and eyeglasses to
many CMSD students.
Daniel R. McCarthy
Founding Senior Principal
McCarthly, Lebit, Crystal & Liffman Co., L.P.A.
Daniel McCarthy is the Founding Senior Principal of
Cleveland law firm McCarthy, Lebit, Crystal & Liffman Co., LPA.,
and a man of historic significance in the Cleveland schools.
He was appointed to oversee desegregation after the 1976
Federal desegregation order and continues his support today as
the leader of a project to create an education center within
the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court system.
Michael B. Petras, Jr.
President & CEO
GE Lighting & Industrial Division
Michael Petras, Jr., is President and Chief Executive
Officer of General Electric’s Lighting &
Industrial Division. Mr. Petras' support for the CMSD includes
helping to successfully launch the new MC2STEM High School. He
was instrumental in making the GE site available and in
realizing
the goal of creating
a historic
partnership between a fortune 500 company and Cleveland high
school students.

C.J. Prentiss
Special Representative
to the Governor
Former State Senator C.J.
Prentiss' focus on urban education has benefited numerous
students in the Cleveland schools. As Governor Ted
Strickland’s Special Representative for an initiative aimed at
increasing graduation rates, she secured additional support
for ninth graders in the Cleveland Metropolitan School
District through the governor's Closing the Achievement Gap
initiative.
Robert H. Rawson, Jr.
Partner
Jones Day
Robert Rawson, Jr. is a partner in the Jones Day law firm and
Chairman of the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education, a
consortium of 26 educational institutions working to enlarge
their impact in the region.
Rawson’s
long-standing support of the CMSD includes serving as past Chairman
of the Cleveland Initiative for Education, which marshaled
private aid and resources for the District. He also helped
develop a leadership program and the Principal Leadership
Institute.

Ronn Richard is the President & CEO of The Cleveland
Foundation, bringing to Cleveland and its communities
experience gained from more than 26 years of key executive
positions in government, corporate and nonprofit
organizations. Together with the George Gund Foundation, the Cleveland Foundation helped
the CMSD launch the Office of New and Innovative Schools,
championed the 2008 “Schools that are Making a Difference”
